Staff was friendly things were clean and the updated areas were really nice. Intake took a while but it normally does.
It was a bit confusing to figure out where to go but the signs really helped and so did staff.
Mercy Hospital saved my family member's life that night and we are so grateful. They took great care of my family when we had to be in the ER for a very serious problem with a member. They helped us find a "Family Room" and the staff was as considerate to us as the patients. Great place when needed!
Mercy has upgraded their ER department, added a new parking ramp, and added a huge new baby wing recently. I've had some time spent there visiting family and from the ER at night, it's got 24x7 vending that takes credit cards
(only 4 stars as they had to ambulance our family member to another hospital due to severity and need for a high level ICU, but they got everything smoothly prepped and gave him a super ambulance ride to a downtown hospital.)
They have really been upgrading their services and departments. We went to visit my Grandfather and I was amazed at how nice they have made things and it was really nice to see how well he was being cared for. The 4 stars is because in the past my Great Grandmother received poor care there but to be fair that was 9 years ago.
I proceeded to cut my hand to the point I was going to need several stitches. I sat in the ER waiting room for two and a half hours before leaving. I understand the more sickly patients go first, but no one was going in. If I ran my company in the same matter Mercy Hospital is ran, my company would not exist. Anyone with a health issues go somewhere else.
Went to the ER, had to have surgery. Asked for an ice pack, and the nurse actually came back later to tell me that she had other things to do first (its really not hard, she could've done it in the time it took to tell me that). So no ice pack, and no pain meds for quite a while, even after the order had already been given by the doctor. Some hack put in an IV that left a bruise the size of Texas on my arm, and I was given only very meager VERBAL post-operative instructions (which should give instructions on incision care, limitations on activity/diet, etc) at discharge - while I was all doped up on heavy pain medication, so not likely to understand or remember - so I had no written instructions to refer to during my recovery, other than I should schedule a follow up visit in 2 weeks. Good thing other surgical centers post their discharge instructions online, so I was able to Google it, and find the critical answers I needed. I'm sure that performing this portion of my own medical care won't have any impact on the bill they're about to send me though.
Went in for severe abdominal pains. Was told the wait was gonna be 6-7 hours. Ended up getting emergency surgery at Princeton hospital for appendicitis. Mercy does not care unless your in a self inflicted sickness. They were taking care of drunks and methheads before actual illnesses of general people. Ever since they remodeled they are a complete joke. Will never recommend anyone going here. Absolutely horrible service. Mercy should be ashamed they charge people to diagnose anyone. All around horrible place.
